Maine Summer Blueberry Sangria
Summer in Maine! You can’t beat it. We only wish it lasted a bit longer :) Whether you are enjoying the state during this precious time of year or dreaming about it, we have the perfect sangria recipe for you!
This recipe was inspired by our dear friend Erica, from Wine Wise, who came to us with the outline of this recipe that she has memorized from her time in Spain but in her recipe, she used Rioja and blackberries. We think it translated to blueberries beautifully!
You will need:
1 bottle bloom - wild Maine blueberry wine
3 oz. Cognac
1 orange sliced thin, rind on, cut in half circles
1 pint blueberries
2 tbsp sugar
1 can ginger ale
Instructions:
Combine wine, cognac, and sugar in a pitcher. stir well to dissolve sugar.
Add most of the orange slices and blueberries (save some for garnish).
Let sit in the refrigerator for 2 hours or overnight, if possible.
Before serving, add the can of ginger ale and stir.
Serve over ice and use any remaining fruit for garnish.
Sangria can sit in the fridge for a few days if, for some reason, you don't finish it right away.
