meadow

meadow is based on a lighter blend rhubarb wine with a touch of Maine wildflower honey added at the end. It's a smooth, full bodied, lightly sweet wine with notes of green apple, caramelized orange peels, and vanilla oak. Think of it a bit like a French Chardonnay with a touch more honey sweetness.

Meadow is the perfect pairing to big fall meals with the natural rhubarb acidity helping it stand up to meaty, rich dishes like herb roasted chicken, gnocchi, or with enjoy it at dessert with a warm apple pie. Plus, we've even concocted a delicious mulled wine with meadow that's a beautiful fit for staying cozy around a campfire.

bloom

Released for Maine's bicentennial using two of Maine's heritage crops - rhubarb and blueberries. Again, we only are using Maine-grown fruit (no flavoring) so the blueberry in this wine is elusive. Amazing color, refreshing, nice tannins from the blueberries, and another great base for a sangria and wine cocktail. We serve it slightly chilled and use it in place of a pinot noir.

piquenique

This wine has a strong strawberry nose but drinks dry. It has been called a ‘porch crusher’, ‘beach buddy’, and ‘deliciously dangerous’. As always, made with Maine rhubarb and we added some Maine strawberry juice too! It makes for a delicious spritzer and sangria base too!

fête

This wine was made specifically for Wine Wise and Portland Wine Week. It is light and refreshing and was meant to catch even the most skilled wine tasters to have to take a pause and say 'this is really made with rhubarb?!' You would never be able to tell, unless we told you. The label has the female captain-ed and made stunning schooner, the Frances, but with the improvement of rhubarb as the sails.
