2020 Fall Release - meadow
Please welcome to the stage… our 2020 fall release of meadow. Fall in Maine is my favorite. The streets are less crowded, the leaves turn into works of art, cozy sweaters start coming out, and we start preparing for hunkering down.
meadow is our version of a Chardonnay. You may notice from the color, we use a slightly different process which results in a warmer hue and no pink. The rhubarb is from Doles Orchard. After fermentation, we back-sweeten the wine with Maine wildflower honey from The Honey Exchange. The honey adds a fullness to the mouthfeel and a touch of vanilla sweetness (still not a sweet wine).
meadow is soft, mellow, and smooth. Reminiscent of caramelized orange peels and vanilla, medium bodied with a tart finish, this wine pairs well with any food you would pair an oaky Chardonnay with - gruyère, ham, or go full Maine with steamed lobster.
